The West Jordan church in Salt Lake City, UT, had the privilege of hosting an Adventist Youth (AY) candlelight service for young adults, bringing together multiple churches from across the area for an evening of worship and community. The space was decorated with candlelight at the front, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The evening included beautiful worship led by the West Jordan Worship Collective and a special solo by one of our young adults, Sophia Borba, both of which helped set a meaningful tone for the night.
Pastor Serrano led the service, titled “Why Do I Need Jesus?” Centered on the theme of living for Christ, it encouraged young adults to reflect on how faith shapes everyday life and what that looks like. The program created space for engagement, reflection, and connection, allowing attendees to feel both welcomed and spiritually encouraged as they began the new year.
After the service, everyone enjoyed fellowship, games, and delicious food that had been generously prepared by friends from the Provo church. This candlelight AY event was a fun and refreshing way to start the year, and it highlighted the power of young adult ministries. Gatherings like these strengthen relationships across churches and positively impact the young adult community in Utah by creating intentional spaces for faith, unity, and genuine connection.
We look forward to hosting more gatherings like this in the coming year as we continue building community, strengthening faith, and creating meaningful spaces for young adults throughout the Salt Lake area.

Culto con velas de los jóvenes área de Salt Lake City
La iglesia West Jordan en Salt Lake City, UT, tuvo el privilegio de organizar un servicio de velas para jóvenes jóvenes (AY) , reuniendo a varias iglesias de toda la zona para una velada de adoración y comunidad. El espacio estaba decorado con la luz de las velas en la parte posterior, creando un ambiente cálido y acogedor. La velada incluyó una hermosa adoración dirigida por West Jordan Worship Collective y un solo especial de una de nuestras jóvenes, Sophia Borba, ambos contribuyeron a marcar un tono significativo para la noche.
El pastor Serrano dirigió el servicio, titulado «¿Por qué necesito a Jesús?» Centrado en el tema de vivir para Cristo, animó a los jóvenes a reflexionar sobre cómo la fe moldea la vida cotidiana y cómo disfrutarla. El programa creó un espacio para la participación, la reflexión y la conexión, permitiendo que los asistentes se sintieran tanto bienvenidos como espiritualmente animados al comenzar el nuevo año.
Después del servicio, todos disfrutaron de convivencia, juegos y deliciosa comida que habían preparado generosamente amigos de la iglesia de Provo. Ese evento de AY a la luz de las velas fue una forma divertida y refrescante de comenzar el año, y puso de manifiesto el poder del ministerios para jóvenes. Reuniones como esas fortalecen las relaciones entre iglesias y tienen un impacto positivo en la comunidad de jóvenes en Utah creando espacios intencionados para la fe, la unidad y la conexión genuina.
Esperamos organizar más reuniones como esa en el próximo año, mientras seguimos edificando comunidad, fortaleciendo la fe y creando espacios significativos para jóvenes en toda la zona de Salt Lake.
