Mesa Grande Academy Hosts First Ever Music and Art Festival

While COVID-19 brought many challenges to our schools, it also offered opportunities. Mesa Grande Academy (MGA) had its first ever Music and Art Festival on May 12-13. This outdoor event allowed students to display their God-given musical, artistic, and creative talents.

The first evening of the festival, May 12, featured choir, band, handbell choir, and drama class performances from various student groups in grades TK-4 and grades 7-12. The second evening, May 13, featured the same line-up from grades 7-12, but instead of the lower elementary, grades 5-6 performed. An art gallery was set up that featured artwork from various student artists. Music projects and woodworking artifacts were also on display.

Parents enjoyed the laid-back feel of an outdoor festival and appreciated being able to interact with families that they had not seen for a long time due to COVID-19 restrictions. “We are thankful at Mesa Grande Academy for God’s leading during this hard year of the pandemic!” said Elisa Suphol, vice principal at MGA.
