Hawaii Pathfinder Camporee
I am a Master Guide in training for the Aiea church Pathfinder Club. I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Hawaii Pathfinder Camporee, which took place from Oct. 16-19 at Camp Waianae on the beautiful island of Oahu. It was a weekend full of faith, fellowship, service, and fun—an experience that reminded me why I love being part of the Pathfinder ministry.
Throughout the Camporee, Pathfinders from all over Hawaii came together to learn, grow, and connect. There were about 14 honors offered during the event, and I was blessed to help teach the Pickleball honor. It was exciting to share what I knew while also learning from others. Seeing the younger Pathfinders enjoy the activities and earn their honors was so rewarding. It reminded me of how every part of the Pathfinder program is about building leadership, teamwork, and character.
One of the most meaningful parts of the weekend was our community outreach project. A group of the Aiea Pathfinders did a beach cleanup at Maili Beach. Together, we picked up trash and helped make the area cleaner and safer for the community. It felt good knowing we were doing something to care for God’s creation. Serving alongside my friends made the experience even better. We laughed, worked hard, and felt proud of the difference we made.
The evening worship and programs were truly unforgettable. Everyone was so excited to be there and to watch the talented actors and actresses from the Gillette Pathfinder Camporee portray the stories of Joseph and Esther. Their performances were filled with emotion and meaning. Their acting and singing were amazing! Each night’s program reminded us that God works through people, even in difficult circumstances, to fulfill His plans. Our guest speaker, Pastor Josue Sanchez, the new pastor for the Hilo and Puna churches, shared powerful testimonies about God’s love and grace. You could feel the Spirit moving as he spoke.
Overall, the Hawaii Pathfinder Camporee was a wonderful, faith-filled weekend that strengthened my walk with God and deepened my commitment to serving others. I left Camp Waianae feeling renewed, inspired, and grateful to be part of such a loving and Christ-centered community.

New Missions Statement
and Expected Student Learner Results
Adventist Education Hawaii (AEH) Mission Statement
Adventist Education Hawaii exists to nurture students’ physical, mental, social-emotional, and spiritual growth, preparing them for service in this world and the world to come with ALOHA—which stands for Achievement, Leadership, ‘Ohana, Healthy living, and Authentic relationship with God.
Expected Schoolwide Learner Results (ESLRs)
The ESLRs were developed through a collaborative, statewide process involving teachers, administrators, parents, and community members to ensure that the educational vision reflects shared values and goals. Rooted in AEH’s mission, the ESLRs guide curriculum, instruction, and assessment, defining the skills and character traits students are expected to demonstrate upon graduation.
The five pillars of ALOHA provide the foundation for AEH’s wholistic education approach:
A
Achievement
Students strive for academic excellence by setting goals, developing proficiency, applying knowledge to real-world problems, communicating effectively, and persevering with a growth mindset. Key text: Philippians 1:9-11. “That your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight.”1
L
Leadership
Students learn to serve others through collaboration, integrity, responsibility, and respectful interaction. Leadership is modeled after Christ’s example of servant leadership. Key text: Matthew 20:26-28. “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.”
O
‘Ohana
Students cultivate a spirit of family, unity, and service by showing kindness, respect, and cultural appreciation while contributing positively to their school and community. Key text: 1 Corinthians 12:12. “As a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body.”
H
Healthy living
Students practice wholistic wellness by balancing physical, emotional, and spiritual health, developing resilience, and making responsible lifestyle choices. Key text: Romans 12:1-2. “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice.… Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
A
Authentic relationship with God
Students deepen their faith through study of Scripture, prayer, worship, and personal reflection, living out biblical values of kindness, honesty, and love. Key text: Matthew 6:33. “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.”
Summary
The 2025 AEH Mission and ESLRs define Adventist Education Hawaii’s commitment to whole-person development rooted in faith, service, and love. Through ALOHA, AEH equips students from kindergarten through high school to think critically, live healthfully, lead compassionately, and walk faithfully with God—ready to serve both their communities and the world to come.
