New Executive Committee Convenes

On Wednesday of this week, the new Executive Committee of the Pacific Union Conference convened for the first time, with newly elected president Bradford C. Newton as the chair. Also in new roles are Sandy Roberts, recently elected executive secretary, and Leon Brown, who is the new vice president. Rounding out the four executive officers is Stephen Mayer, who was reelected as treasurer.

The union Executive Committee is delegated the authority to act on behalf of the constituents between Regular Constituency Sessions. The committee members come from all across the union’s geography to help develop and direct the work of the church in the Pacific Southwest. The committee is made up of people who are diverse in terms of race, culture, age, gender, and demographics. The members include lay members and church employees.

The Executive Committee begins each of their meetings with prayer. We’re certain that each of the members would appreciate your prayers as they take on this important responsibility.

Snack Time Smiles from Oceanside Adventist Elementary

These smiling faces say it all! Being outside with friends is oh so fun. Recently at Oceanside Adventist Elementary, a few of their Kindergarten students got their pictures taken while enjoying snack time, fresh air, sunshine, and friends in the great outdoors. Other students shared what they love about their school on a video shared on social media. We love ALL our students and are so happy they’re enjoying being back together again!

Anonymous Donor Gifts $10,000 to Support Pacific Union College Student Scholarships

“We are incredibly grateful for the recent gift of $10,000 from an alumnus to support student scholarships!” Pacific Union College recently shared on social media. The donor said that the gift was made as a way of saying thanks to PUC for wonderful memories of their time as a student there, including the support of caring professors and developing friendships that have lasted a lifetime. What an awesome way to honor happy memories by helping more students create memories of their own! Fall 2021 classes at Pacific Union College begin Monday, September 27!

La Sierra University also begins in-person classes for fall quarter on Monday, September 27. With COVID safety protocols in place, we wish La Sierra and PUC students a wonderful 2021-2022 school year!

Tomorrow, September 25, is Deaf Ministries Awareness Sabbath. The North American Division has designated a special coordinator for Deaf Ministries, and a wealth of resources are available if you’re considering starting a deaf ministry in your local church. The mission? Building bridges between the deaf and hearing members and empowering the deaf so they may partner with the church in completing the gospel commission.
