We begin our episode today with a story from the Southern California Conference. Melvir Ausente is a musician who follows wherever God leads him. He sang in the Philippine Madrigal Singers and made connections to come to the United States to sing with the El Paso Opera and Chamber Choir for a season. While in El Paso, Melvir was introduced to and accepted the Adventist faith. From there, he moved to Los Angeles, where he became the Temple City church music director. While serving at Temple City, he sang with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He started helping with San Gabriel Academy’s music department and now is teaching band and orchestra there full time. Encouraged by his spiritual leadership, several of his students have pursued careers in music. Thank you, Melvir Ausente, for your dedication to music ministry!
