Miki Akeo-Nelson has served as the Associate Director of Secondary Education at the Pacific Union Conference since 2026.
She previously worked as an elementary school teacher, teacher/principal, school principal, and, most recently, as the superintendent of schools for the Hawai’i Conference, where she served for 12 years. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to Adventist education through leadership and service at the school, conference, Pacific Union, and North American Division levels.
Akeo-Nelson holds a B.Ed. in Elementary Education and an M.Ed. in Administration from the University of Hawai’i, as well as an MBA in Hospital Administration from La Sierra University. She also holds professional certification in elementary education and administrative endorsements as both principal and superintendent.
Miki and her husband, Pastor Tim Nelson, reside in Kaneohe, Hawaii. They have two daughters, Madison and Sophia.
